Emeritus Senior Living at Emerson, New Jersey will be celebrating National Gorgeous Grandma Day on July 23, 2013. Life Enrichment Director, Carol Habler has organized many wonderful activities for this special day. She has been with Emeritus for 2 years enriching the lives of the residents with many creative and stimulating events.
She has coordinated with the Rivervale Girl Scouts of New Jersey who will be making corsages for the residents. Before the event, the Girl Scouts will be pampering the residents with hand massages and nail painting.
A Fashion show has been planned and rehearsed with the assistance of Michele Kappenman, also very creative and inspirational. The resident will be modeling on the runway to background music of such songs as “Pretty Woman” and Cyndi Lauper “Girls Just Want To Have Fun”.
After the show, the residents will be entertained by Russ Martone to music from the 40s, 50s, and 60s. As one of the residents’ favorite entertainers, he will sing exquisite songs and romantic ballads from Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., and Dean Martin.
Dining Services Director, Marion Pickett-El has prepared exquisites array of desserts and sparking champagne will be served.
