Making A Difference With A CAN-DO Attitude!
Years ago as Nick Loren tucked his 2-year-old son into bed, his son gave him a drawing of a furry, friendly-looking alien with tennis shoes. Nick, being the silly dad that he is, as well an actor and John Travolta’s stunt-double, named the furry alien Farful. Farful Foolong From Oolong Panshoo, to be exact! Little did Nick know, Farful would become a force for hope and creative thinking for children!
Loren is a towering man with a big smile that crinkles his bright blue eyes, and he has a big personality to match. When he is not taking a punch or diving off a tall building for Travolta, he is a children’s book writer. Inspired by Dr. Seuss, and how his books influenced a whole generation of children, and continue to delight the grandchildren of that generation, Loren turned Farful into a series of books designed to motivate children to be creative problem-solvers, give them hope when facing illness, and encourage them to think big!
His first book, Farful Foolong From Oolong Panshoo Solves The Problem Of The Grey Bubble-Goo, was released last year. Loren connected with Audrey Geisel, the wife of the late Dr. Seuss (Ted Geisel). Her response to the book? “Farful Foolong from Oolong Panshoo… cadence resonates with a Seussian echo. Ted would have liked it!”
As Nick wrote his second book about helping children understand they have the power to help those faced with any illness, he realized there was an opportunity to make a difference. The book, Farful Foolong From Oolong Panshoo Helps His Friend Fight The Yuckity-Uck, opened the door to a partnership with The V Foundation For Cancer Research. Now, every Panshoo product sold will benefit critical pediatric cancer research through the V Foundation. (Visit http://www.panshooworld.com/wecare for more information on the partnership.)
“A CAN-DO attitude can influence the life of a child – well, really ANYONE,” says Loren, flashing that warm smile again. “If Farful can bring a little of that attitude and some creative thinking skills, what a great way to help our children and grandchildren in this complicated world!”
