A GRAND welcome!

Becoming a grandparent has transformed my life beyond measure.  So, from the beginning, we at GRAND Media have made it our mission to provide grandparents of all ages and in all stages of life both information and inspiration.  Through GRAND Magazine and now, through GRANDmagazine.com, we've created a world that celebrates the joys and tackles the challenges of one of life's sweetest experiences - having grandchildren.

This is our world, and together, we explore the changing face of grandparenting.  Continually updated with new and helpful information, standard features on the site include: long-distance grandparenting, kinship care and grandparents' rights, children's health and development, intergenerational travel and reunions, family money, fun and games to do with your grandchildren, food and family gatherings, fashion, inspirations, grandchildren's photographs and funny sayings, and much more!

Our Forums and Contact Us encourage you to respond to our features and column -- our new e-zine gives you GRAND magazine minutes after its published with live links to all its resources.

Come often and stay as long as you like!

Fondly,

Christine Crosby

The big news was that our family tree sprouted a tiny twig, but there were plenty of sideshows along the way. A milestone college reunion. A road trip from hell. A major case of the middle-age blues, and a texting obsession that ruined my thumbs.

It all got started in January with a reality smack to us age-sensitive baby boomers. "He's so young," my husband whined as we watched our new president take the oath. "Correction," I whined back. "He's sooo young." Read More...

Nicknames

View Nicknames | Submit Your Nickname

What do your grandchildren call you? Some have family or ethnic traditions about what they're called. And grandparents are sometimes given the darndest names by their grandchildren for reasons that can be quite mysterious and inexplicable to those over two years old.

Since our inaugural issue, we've continued to compile a list of the myriad names that Grands are called. Perhaps it will inspire you or your own children! If your own 'grand' name doesn't appear on this list, send it to us by submitting the form below.

P.S. If your grandparent name is already listed but you have a special story to tell about it we'd love to share it with our visitors. Don't hesitate to submit it!
