Dear Gramma Good

Dear Gramma Good,askgrandma-good-web3-1

I have two granddaughters I never get to see. My daughter is coming to Montana where I live but not to see me. She is going to see my sister’s daughter and family. I am not sure how to feel, as I am not part of her visit to Montana. Please give me some advice.

Dear Sad Gramma,

I am very sad for you and your granddaughters. Obviously you have mother-daughter issues with your daughter. From what you have written to me I suspect your daughter is trying to hurt you by not allowing you to spend time with your granddaughters. She is succeeding. This is not the proper way for your daughter to behave. She should not involve her children in her dispute with you. My advice: Write to her or call her and explain to her very nicely that: NOT ONLY DO GRAMMAS NEED THEIR GRANDCHILDREN…BUT GRANDCHILDREN ALSO NEED THEIR GRAMMAS.

Do Something GOOD Today: When in doubt, put your feelings into words. The person on the receiving end may not have known you felt as you do.
