Grandparent ambassador for GRAND in Oklahoma: Mynan Hutto

Delta Community Action Foster Grandparent Program, became Mynan Hutto  midlife career change, after spending 20 years directing Cardiopulmonary Services for the local hospital. She holds a B.A. in sociology/management and is a certified conflict coach and a Certified Respiratory Therapist. Mynan Hutto is now the ambassador for GRAND in Oklahoma.

 Mynan Hutto has been an active participant in state and national senior corps associations.  She served on the National Association of Foster Grandparent Directors Board (NAFGPD) in WashingtonDC.  She also served two terms as treasurer on the executive board.  She also acted as the hospitality person for the three Senior Corps Boards of Director semi-annually in DC. In 2005, Hutto was a delegate to the White House Conference on Aging, through a congressional appointment from OK Senator James Inhofe.

In the OK state senior corps, Hutto is the only director to serve as secretary, treasurer, and president of the association.  She is a graduate of the OAALA (OK Aging Advocacy Leadership Academy 2002-2003). She has hosted two national conferences in OKC and served on many planning committees for the national conferences in other states.

Currently Hutto is serving on a committee for the 2014 National Conference to be held in San Antonio, TX. Last, but not least, she is co-authoring a book with two accomplished Gerontologists about Foster Grandparents.  Favorite quote: Strive to be a meaningful specific or end up being a wandering generality! Saving the best for last, Mynan Hutto is the proud grandparent of two grown grandchildren, Keaton, 21 and Tylyn, 20 and now her four year old Gianna! We are extremely proud to have Mynan as an ambassador for GRAND.
