If you’re a grandmother raising a grandchild — or know someone who is — you may be interested in learning about Project COPE (Caring for Others as a Positive Experience), a study being conducted in four U.S. locations: Northeastern Ohio; Dallas/Fort Worth, Tex.; San Bernardino County, Cal.; and the Greater Baltimore MD/Washington, DC area. Funded by the National Institutes of Health, this study will compare different ways of helping grandmothers who are raising a grandchild between ages 4 to 12 in the total absence of the grandchild’s birth parents.
