I recently met an amazing woman who has suffered great hardship in her young life. Her name is Catherine Weaver and despite her life challenges she has her priorities straight and knows what is really important. At the top of her list is family. She shared her original prose about family with me and I loved it so much, I now want to share with you.she has her priorities straight and knows what is really important. At the top of her list is family.
What makes a family?
Is it only connections by blood or is it love shared from the heart?
What makes a family?
Is it similar features…personality traits, ancestral heritage that makes it so great?
What makes a family?
Is it the differences that makes families unique or is it forgiveness of one another when mistakes are made?
Whatever the definition you choose to accept, we are family and there is no mistaking that.
What makes us a family?
The good and the bad, the happy times and the sad.
That’s what makes us a family.
The many children and parents that have been added.
That’s what makes us a family.
The miles that separate us, for years at a time and the laughter and tears when we see each other once again.
That’s what makes us a family.
The memories that are told to the young from the old.
For generations to come our legacy lives on through the children not yet born.
That’s what makes us a family.
