“Boys and Their Toys Events This Week

By Maria King

Oh I know what you are thinking this has the potential to be a very racy subject for a blog. Well, if you are thinking that, you couldn’t be more off the mark. (Did you get the 2 hints I gave in the form of puns there?) This week I thought I would bring the men out there a blog about shows that are geared (there is another!) toward them. That’s right, Boys and their Toys.

It seems that every once in a while, the event landscape is bursting with the type of events that appeal to the men in our lives; that includes, fathers, brothers, sons, husbands and more. Oh not that they don’t like a variety of shows and are not so one dimensional as they were say 50 years ago, but shows that would just appeal to a more male audience. More than likely it’s because they do not appeal so much to women. I cannot be sure but I do know that the men who have had enough of bridal shows and flower shows and art events are in for a little consideration.

This week we highlight an Auto Show, an Air Show, a Fitness race and Expo, a Sportsmen’s Classic, a Grand Prix race, a Sportshow, a Trucking Show, the MAC World expo, the Carolina Cup Steeplechase and opening day of baseball season. WOW that is a great menu of things for the men. I am not exactly sure why so many seemed to be bunched here but it may be that men get spring fever as well.

Whatever the reason, be sure to look for events in your area that would be just perfect for the guys in your life. And be sure to go along if you get an invite. I mean think of all the times that we are keeping them from watching sports on tv when they join you at an event of our choosing. It will be fun showing interest in the things that are important to him. Who knows, you may find that baiting a hook isn’t as bad as it seems. OR maybe you will find that it is as horrible as you have always imagined. But who cares as long as you share it with the people you love it is always a special moment!
