Mom and Baby Reviewer: What We Think of the New Dex DayDreamer

By Sonni Micocci-Hoskins, – GRAND Mom Reviewer from California for the Dex DayDreamer

I’m a new mom with an active six-month-old baby girl, named Juniper Grace. I received the Dex DayDreamer as a review item, thinking it wouldn’t be anything different from the other baby seats we already had, but why not give it a shot, and provide some respite for our weary arms?  My daughter now weights 18 lbs, and is definitely a lap baby.  She always wants to be held, and be part of the action.  I received the Dex DayDreamer, hoping that this would be the answer to my poor weary arm’s prayers.  Well, baby girl, continues to want to be held most of the time.  However, the Dex DayDreamer is an amazing option to other baby contraptions, such as the bouncy chairs.  Our daughter prefers the DayDreamer, and will spend more time in it than most anything else!

Dex DayDreamerWe placed it by the window, and she is able to move around in it to stare outside, or play with her toys without dropping all of them outside her reach.  it’s safe, cozy, and provides room for movement in ways that other chairs do not. In fact, Our daughter likes to be on her side, and the DayDreamer allows her to lay on her side if she wants (I never leave her unattended in this position, though).

To me the Dex Day Dreamer is like a baby version of a Chaise Lounge. Who wouldn’t feel decadent laying in a Chaise lounger in the sunshine? Wish they made one in adult sizes. As a matter of fact, it made me curious so I checked out Wikipedia.

“Lounge chair” redirects here. For the Swiss-French film, see Lounge Chair (film).

A late 19th century chaise longue

chaise longue (English /ˌʃz ˈlɔːŋ/;[1] French pronunciation: [ʃɛz lɔ̃ɡ], “long chair”) is an upholstered sofa in the shape of a chair that is long enough to support the legs.

The architect Le Corbusier designed a Chaise Longue, which he called the LC-4 Grand Confort, that has become a classic item.

In modern French the term chaise longue can refer to any long reclining chair such as a deckchair. A literal translation in English is “long chair”. In the United States the term lounge chair is also used to refer to any long reclining chair. Chaise longue is sometimes incorrectly written and pronounced as “chaise lounge“.
