Smugglers’ Notch Vermont – Mountains of fun for grandparents and their grandkids!

For decades families have chosen Smugglers’ Notch Resort in the heart of Vermont’s beautiful Green Mountains as their summer vacation destination. In a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, Smugglers’ offers activities for all ages from tots to grandparents, a resort village with comfortable lodging and must-have amenities, and proximity to many of Vermont’s top attractions.

Smugglers' notchFun for all ages

At Smugglers’, activities like nature walks and family games foster connection, and sharing outdoor adventures leads to priceless memories. Taking in the bird’s-eye view of the forest on the guided ArborTrek canopy tour with zip lines, suspension bridges and rappels can be a unique adventure to share with a grandchild age 8 or older. ArborTrek’s two aerial trekking courses offer another adventure (one course is designed for children as young as four). After ground school training, participants explore from tree platform to tree platform, negotiating dozens of elements like wobbly bridges and rope swings above the ground.

Eight outdoor heated pools, four waterslides, and a mountainside reservoir thrill water lovers. Youngsters frolic in a gradual entry wading pool with water sprays and a float-through cave, or splash pad with water misters and a mini waterslide. Older children love the Giant Rapid River Ride, Flume or Twister waterslides. A water trampoline, floating tubes, fishing, canoeing, and paddle boating are reservoir highlights.

Full-day camps engage children ages 3-17 through nature discovery, arts and crafts, and pool and waterslide outings. Specialty camps in tennis, skateboarding, mountain biking, disc golf, outdoor adventure or survival skills are offered for ages 9-17.
