When it comes to breaking the news, these folks really do take the cake.
When Air Force veteran (now a full-time student at UNLV) John Bumphrey and his wife, Susan, a registered nurse, were four months into having a baby, they did what all modern parents-to-be do—they made a video of them announcing the news to their parents and posted the video on YouTube. In the video, their parents hysterically miss clues, like a cake with recreations of a series of ultrasounds in a slot machine, with pink frosting and the words “Vegas Baby” on it, and an actual bun in an actual oven.
Within a week, the video was discovered by HLN’s “The Daily Share” and soon went viral, garnering more than 340,000 views to date. “We had no idea our ‘breaking news’ would play out so pricelessly!” John said, noting that the parents’ inability to decipher the clues is what made it so funny. Congratulations to John, Susan, Ronald and Kathy Schroder, and Jerry and Christel Bumphrey. We think you’ll make great grandparents!
