Elberta German Sausage Festival

Join us at the German Sausage Festival for Elberta’s famous German sausage and sauerkraut, plus continuous entertainment for adults and children, and 250 arts and crafts booths. Other scrumptious foods will include German style filled cabbage, potato salad, goulash, red beans and rice, hamburgers, hot dogs, BBQ sandwiches, ice cream, popcorn and peanuts. There will be baked goods as well as arts and crafts for sale at the festival. The Bellview Stumpfiddle Band will perform with the North End Stompers, and cloggers, carnival rides and polka, country and German music will also be provided for entertainment. The sausage festival is a town fund- raiser, spearheaded by Elberta’s Volunteer Fire Department in 1978, whose proceeds are used for improving not only the fire department, but the town as well.

St George Arts Festival

Since 1980. The show has expanded to include over 110 artists juried from hundreds of entries from throughout the United States. This festival has regional appeal for both artists and festival goers. Festival goers enjoy thousands of original works of art, live entertainment, a vibrant children’s area foods of all kinds. Over 30,000 residents and visitors from around the West converge in the beautiful town of St. George on Easter weekend, one of the busiest travel weekends of the year. The festival is set in the beautiful Town Square with it’s carousel, fountains and water features, flower gardens and historic buildings. The Art Festival is known for consistently outstanding artwork, and treatment of artists as special guests. The many categories of art accepted include watercolor, oils, pottery, sculpture, photography, woodwork, and other creations. The show offers cash awards for Best of Show, Best 2D and 3D and ribbons for all categories. In addition, an artist’s work is selected each year to grace the following year’s poster. This Featured Artist receives a complementary entry into the festival. The St. George Art Festival is produced by the City of St. George Leisure Services Department.

World Championship Snowmobile Hillclimb

Easter on Parade

Easter on Parade, the beloved Richmond tradition that showcases attendees “parading” up and down scenic Monument Avenue, continues this year. on the blocks between Allen and Davis Avenues. Each year more than 25,000 people converge upon the four-block site to celebrate the arrival of spring and the beauty of Monument Avenue, taking this once-a-year opportunity to stroll in the streets. Music, arts, crafts, children’s activities, food, balloon artistry, a petting zoo, and of course, people and pet watching are all part of the celebration. This is a parade of Richmonders. Admission is free. The highlight of the event promises to be the ever-popular Pet Bonnet and People Bonnet Showcases, held at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively, on the Zayde R. Dotts Main Stage at Allen Avenue.

Union Street Spring Celebration and Easter Parade

Since 1992 gourmet food booths, live entertainment on two stages, a large family adventure area with children’s activities including a petting zoo, face painting and pony rides. The parade will feature marching bands, balloons and many participants. Parade is at 2pm. Judging for the Easter Bonnet Contest occurs at the judging booth on Union Street at Buchanan from 11:15 – 1:30. Categories include Best in Show, Best Couple, Best Family, Best Pet, Best Children, Best Merchant, Most Elegant, Largest Hat, Most Comical, and Most Creative. The awards are given at 3:30 PM on the Main Stage at Buchanan.
