We grandparents are always on the hunt for good books for our grandkids and I’m excited to have found this one.
By Deborah Carroll
This adorable rhyming children’s book about real-life grandparents redefines the images of grandparents found in most children’s books. Today’s diverse “grands” live vibrantly with vivacious attitudes about life. They work a myriad of jobs with passion. They’re teachers and doctors, welders and bankers, artists and lawyers, and many other things. Some are retired and engage in fun hobbies from gaming to gardening. They may be writers who weave with words, artists who create beauty, or volunteers making a difference in the world.
Today’s grandparents are leading the way for the next generation to learn how to age with grace, integrity and fun! This is a wonderful, heartwarming book for parents, grandparents, and children to enjoy together. The beautiful illustrations will change the way you see grandparents.
So, if you are a grandparent or know one or love one who is anything from artist to Zamboni driver or anything in between you’ll want to share this book. If you are or know a “grand” who rocks and rolls and breaks the mold of grandparents, this book is for you!
About the Author
Deborah Drezon Carroll is a former teacher, educational consultant, and the mother of three “amazing” children. She grew up in New York and Philadelphia where she taught in the public schools for ten years before becoming the Manager of the Education Department of the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News. She has conducted hundreds of workshops and has appeared on Good Morning America with her first parenting book. That appearance, while lots of fun was also one of her most embarrassing moments so if you meet Debby, be sure to ask her to tell you about it.
Her parenting book, “Raising Amazing Children: While Having a Life of Your Own” is available exclusively on Amazon.
Her latest memoir is a story it took almost a lifetime to craft. “Tales From the Family Crypt: When Aging Parents Die, Sibling Rivalry Lives” details with humor and love an almost unbelievable story of her dysfunctional extended family. You’ll laugh, you may cry and if you are like most people, alas, you may relate. Her newest word is an adorable children’s book about the fabulous new face of grandparents. Real Grands: From A to Z, Everything A Grandparent Can Be shows little ones what grandparents are like today. We’re not your mother’s grandmother. (Not that there’s anything wrong with her!)
