Parenting really IS harder today – Parents are Looking for REAL answers
Many parents feel overwhelmed and admit they just do not feel confident about how to parent. They rely on the “trial and error” approach to parenting. And they get frustrated and children are out of sorts.
The speed of life stresses families; children are overscheduled and spend less time with their parents. Both parents work away from the home and have less time to instill their values in their children. As a society, we are seeing some trends that are troublesome. Anxiety and depression are on the rise even in children as young as 2 and 3 years old.
The Solutions are known and proven but not easily accessible.
As a civilization, we don’t teach the stages of development that happen inside the mind of the young child. But just as surely as children learn to walk and talk, they also experience crucial (but less visible) stages of development that directly affect intelligence, ability, and social-emotional behavior–for the rest of their lives.
Only through an understanding of these stages, can parents best meet their child’s developmental needs.
Our mission is to bring these solutions into the mainstream: The latest brain research tells us that 90% of brain development happens by age 5. These years are KEY to their overall development and success in life. But most parents don’t have the information they need to understand what is happening inside their child. They’re left with too many unanswered questions, such as:
- Why is my child suddenly throwing tantrums, and what is the best way to deal with these tantrums?
- How can we have more peace and fewer power struggles at home?
- What can I do to nurture my child’s self-esteem and confidence?
The child’s behaviors–and misbehaviors–are deeply rooted in his developmental stages and corresponding needs. When adults don’t understand the developmental stages, the child’s needs go unfulfilled. In fact, we may even (inadvertently) be obstructing the child’s natural growth and progress.
If a child’s needs are not met, he acts out in the only way he can–with tantrums, tears, and power struggles.
Montessori has shown us the nature of the child so that we can be an effective guide for these children.
~ Irma Rodriguez, Age of Montessori Elementary Program Co-Developer
Dr. Montessori’s message was never meant to remain in the hands of a few educators.
It was meant to be spread across the globe for the betterment of children everywhere and for the welfare of mankind – through a culture of true peace.
It’s a life-changing message
Her message reveals the true nature of the child – how he learns and grows through each cycle of development, what he needs to flourish each step of the way.
Let’s work together to help parents who are struggling
Today we see too many parents struggling in this fast-paced world to meet all the demands of modern living. We know that Montessori’s core principles provide the wisdom, inspiration, and insight that can make parenting so much easier and joyful.
The first $25,000 raised will provide five Montessori Philosophy and The Four Avenues of Learning course scholarships or twenty-five “mini course” scholarships for parent education courses.
What parents have to say.
“Children’s ‘work’ is unrecognized by adults because we adults through the centuries have felt that we need to somehow “educate, control, and manage” the child. I am deeply moved to tears, to be honest, at the beauty of just allowing the child’s spirit to shine and the child’s “inner teacher” to emerge, to guide the child in the tasks that are important in that moment to the child’s inner development.”
Why we need your help – These resources are FREE to everyone, but we need your help to fund their continued creation and distribution.
Our free, information-rich webinars are available on-demand and cover a broad range of topics including: raising infants and toddlers, understanding elementary aged children, meeting the needs of the sensitive child, guiding the gifted child, and freedom within limits or discipline.
Our downloadable desktop library, newsletters, and eBook entitled Montessori! What it is…and Why it Should Matter to You! are always free and and always accessible. And our social media team is here to offer assistance and support.
