A FREE LOS ANGELES EVENT
FOR OUR YOUTH, FAMILIES, EDUCATORS & THE COMMUNITY
Internationally renowned Latina Inspirational Speaker Mabel Katz together with Playground Of Dreams Founder Anna Herbert, Hollywood Apex Academy principal Rachel Livingston, and Julie Nony of the LAPD Community Outreach Program – with guest Michiko Hayashi of the Emoto Peace Project — have embarked on creating a free bilingual English/Spanish event for the Youth and Families of Los Angeles focused on providing a day for building and fostering community, confidence and peace by teaching day-to-day stress and anxiety alleviating techniques to address the current uneasy post-election climate which has affected our nation and trickled down to our youth.
The event will take place on: Saturday, February 11th at: APEX Academy 1309 N. Wilton Place, Los Angeles, CA 11am – 5PM
A day of fun activities, learning, treats and an opportunity for all attendees to come together into a living peace sign as everyone puts into practice:
- Peace-based leadership skills
- Compassionate communication exercises
- Building inner peace for youth and adults
- Identifying and transforming bullying via peace methodology

Mabel Katz is an internationally acclaimed speaker, author, and seminar leader who is recognized as a leading authority on Ho’oponopono, an ancient Hawaiian art and practice for achieving greater clarity of purpose and living and working more effectively. She has crafted a series of talks, keynotes, and seminars for corporations, businesses, and individuals – including seminars for children – that apply the practices of Ho’oponopono to bring individuals, the community, companies and organizations closer to their full potential, and to specifically give people an edge at work, and in all areas of their life.
Based on using forgiveness and gratitude, her presentations focus on practical ways for reaching what she calls Zero Frequency®, a state where we are free of restrictive memories and limiting self-talk. From the clarity of Zero, outstanding solutions become apparent and excellent choices can be made.
Anna Herbert is the Executive Director of Playground of Dreams (POD), a not-for-profit youth led mentoring movement teaming community leaders with youths, fostering their creativity, confidence and unique purpose in the world.
Rachel Livingston is the principal of Apex Academy, an innovative small charter high school within the LAUSD, which opened its doors to the East Hollywood community in the Fall of 2008 and which operates concurrently with the rest of the Helen Bernstein Complex of schools within LAUSD.
Michiko Hayashi is the Global Director and Ambassador of Dr. Masaru Emoto’s peace project. Dr. Emoto’s revolutionary discovery via the first water crystal photography was that water is deeply connected with our individual collective and consciousness, and shows that thoughts and words have a direct effect on water crystal formation.
THE EASIEST WAY TO CONFIDENCE AND PEACE is meant to engage our community in understanding how words and thoughts affect our individual and collective consciousness, and how teaching, providing the tools and practicing tolerance and peace will create and manifest positive individual and collective well-being. It is most important to the organizers to bring these concepts to our community and our youth during this time.
