Have You Ever Been To A GRANDRALLY?

National GrandRally May 10^th, 2017

Raise your Grand Voice on Capitol Hill at the 5th National GrandRally on May 10^th,  2017, in Washington, DC. The National GrandRally: Building a Community of Hope,  is a highly visible gathering of grandfamilies and their fellow advocates to elevate the critical role grandparents and other relatives play in providing safe, loving, permanent families for children and the policy changes needed to effectively support them while building and strengthening a community of hope. Cosponsors of the GrandRally include AARP, Casey Family Programs, Children’s Defense Fund, Foster Club, Generations United, GrandFamilies of America, & National Kinship Alliance for Children.

Grandparents caregivers, children, and advocates will gather on the West Grassy Front of the U.S Capitol for a rally featuring speakers and performances by caregivers and young people in grandfamilies, members of Congress, and other champions for the families. The event will be emceed by award-winning Washington Post columnist, Michelle Singletary.  A celebratory GrandRally dinner and reception will take place nearby on the evening before the Rally featuring Austin-based musician SaulPaul. There are also opportunities to participate in advocacy trainings and Congressional visits.

Registration for the GrandRally and related activities opens the week of March 6^th at www.grandrally.org. There is a flat fee of $15 per person for the Rally and any related activities. Registrants will receive a GrandRallyT-Shirt.
