Five easy pieces for a chic and comfortable fall wardrobe
BY BARRY SCHWARTZ
Contrary to popular opinion, stylish dressing can indeed be comfortable. Today’s active women desire clothes that feel as good as they look. Fortunately, comfort is a huge priority for fall fashion 2017, with many of the season’s top trends rating high on the comfort scale. Look for vibrant colors and prints in soft and stretchy fabrics. Velvet, leopard, long-over-lean, knit dresses, plaid and anything red hit the mark.
Here, from Serengeti Fashions, are “five easy pieces” showcased in the new fall collection. The price points are beyond amazing; most items retail for well under $50. Comfort, style and affordability –women really can have it all!
Mad for Plaid
Plaid is back in a very big way. Think big – and bold. Colorful double faced tunics make a fashionable statement worn with jeans or leggings. Also consider plaid flannel shirts and buffalo plaid tunics, A-line skirts and even plaid fleece gloves in bright colors. Opt for a classic pea-coat style or a snuggly fleece cape.

Long Over Lean
Thankfully, this flattering ensemble is very much in vogue. Long tunics and over leggings create a “uniform” that many women adopt day in and day out. Choose from an array of beautiful tunic tops: pintuck borders and paisleys, stripes, floral prints and colorblocking.

In the Jungle
Animal prints with gold, black or silver prints are one of the easiest ways to update an existing wardrobe. Pair a printed top with jeans or leggings –perfect day or night. Or wear a leopard print jacket to take your outfit from ordinary to wild. Zebra earrings instantly transform an all-black outfit into something special.
Plush Velvet
Velvet is huge for fall 2017. Black velvet pants, a “must-have” staple, can easily be dressed up or down. Other smart velvet options include colorful skirts with an elasticized waist for added comfort; printed floral tunics; black stretch velvet gloves embroidered with delicate rosebuds.
Timeless Knits
Knit dresses give new meaning to the words “easy-to-wear.” Case in point: the ponte knit dress. A gently flared skirt, flowing from a V-shape waist seam, updates this beloved classic. Accessorize with boots and silver earrings for an outfit that works around the clock.
