I am Neil Armstrong is the perfect way to introduce your grand to the first man who walked on the moon. You can share with them where you were on that fateful day in July 1969. This book is from the series Ordinary People Change the World. This friendly, fun biography series focuses on the traits that made our heroes great–the traits that kids can aspire to in order to live heroically themselves.
This book gives us a glimpse into Armstrong’s childhood and his early experiences that led him to fall in love with planes and later space travel. From there, we learn about his education as an engineer and entry into the space program. At the back of the book, Meltzer has included some candid photos of Armstrong and an excellent timeline of his life.
