A Fun Way To Teach Grandkids (& Other Family Members) Geography

A Fun Way To Teach Grandkids (& Other Family Members) Geography

BY FRAN WISHNICK

Like many, I’m always looking for age-appropriate gifts for my adorable grandsons.  Several online sites now feature suggested gifts by age-group.  We looked at Uncommon Goods’ suggested items for children aged three and up and ordered the reusable 100% cotton World Map Tablecloth with 10 fabric pens included.

The 50 X 33-inch tablecloth displays the 7 Wonders of the Modern World and other fun facts.   Upon washing the tablecloth, the ink completely disappears without staining other objects.

On the Uncommon Goods site:

Maybe your little one hasn’t been to Machu Picchu or the Taj Mahal yet, but they can get a peek at the wonders of the world next time they travel to the dinner table. This 100% cotton tablecloth is illustrated with hand-drawn countries, landmarks, and animals from around the globe. It even includes fun facts. (Did you know the first solo hot air balloon flight around the world wasn’t until 2002?)

grandkidsSince it comes with ten washable markers, the whole family can color the map and experiment by adding drawings and designs while gathered around a meal…. Made in India.

Color Your World

grandkidsMaybe your little one hasn’t been to Machu Picchu or the Taj Mahal yet, but they can get a peek at the wonders of the world as they travel. (Even if they’re just trekking to a play date.) This 100% cotton drawstring backpack is illustrated with hand-drawn countries, landmarks, and animals from around the globe. It even includes fun facts. (Did you know the first solo hot air balloon flight around the world wasn’t until 2002?)

Since it comes with ten washable markers, kiddos can color the map and experiment by adding their own drawings and designs. Wash the bag in warm water and the ink completely disappears, so your tiny traveler can create their own colorful art again and again. Made in India.
