Scientists Get Dressed

Scientists Get Dressed

Author: Deborah Lee Rose

Age range: 5-13

Reviewer: Jeanette Perkins aka Beeba

Scientists Get Dressed introduces kids to various types of scientists and the wide range of clothing and equipment they use to perform their jobs. The book covers eighteen different specialties, accompanied by photos and facts to help you understand the gear each needs.

Most of us think of a white lab coat, goggles and a test tube when we picture a scientist. This book illustrates the details of an astronaut’s space suit and the importance of the thick gloves needed to collect burning lava. There is a Kevlar outfit a raptor biologist must put on before heading out in the field. And wait until you see what the conservation biologists wear when working with pandas!

STEM is a hot topic these days. Through this unique look at what scientists wear, Scientists Get Dressed inspires kids to explore STEM in new ways. They can imagine themselves getting dressed for exciting and important work. Do you have a grand who is a budding scientist? This is the book for them.
