Do check out this book! It is a fun story full of puns told through emails, letters, newspaper articles and other forms of written communication. There is a new librarian in town – Rita B Danjerous – and she has the whole town buzzing. The new Green Dot Collection allows students to borrow books without checking them out, therefore protecting their privacy.
But not everyone is happy with the new librarian. The new school board president, Ivana Beprawpa (see what I mean about the puns), is set on closing the library and doing things her way. Some fifth grade reporters are keen to investigate both the librarian and Ms. Beprawpa and find out all the facts.
Although this is a very funny book, it does talk about some serious subjects like censorship, abuse of power and corruption. Timely subjects in today’s world.

About the author/illustrator team:
Illustrator M. Sarah Klise and author Kate Klise are sisters and collaborators. They started making books together many years ago in their bedroom in Peoria, Illinois. Kate wrote the words; Sarah drew the pictures. Their first book was about an adventure-loving little mouse that traveled around the country. That story was never published. (In fact, it ended up in the garbage can !) But the Klise sisters had so much fun making their first book, they kept writing and drawing. And now they’ve published more than twenty award-winning books for young readers, including Regarding the Fountain and Dying to Meet You. The Klise sisters no longer share a bedroom. Kate lives in Missouri and travels often to visit schools and libraries. Sarah lives in California. But the two sisters still enjoy working together, especially on their new series about a pair of circus mice. (By the way, Klise rhymes with mice.)
