However, the “GRAND” title found you; today it belongs to you.
Grandparent doesn’t mean just one thing, and it never has. It’s the grandmother who raised you and the great-aunt who stepped in when it mattered. It’s the grandfather three doors down who taught half the block to fish, and the neighbor the kids call “Grandpa” though there’s no relation at all. It’s chosen family, blended family, and the family you build one Sunday dinner at a time.
Today, we’re thinking of every one of you — grandparents, step-grandparents, great-aunts and great-uncles, godparents, and the honorary grandparents who show up simply because they choose to. However a child came to call you their grand-person, thank you.
For 21 years, GRAND has had the privilege of telling your stories — from every background, every family shape, every corner of the world. We’re grateful to still be listening.
